SixTwelve is so close to opening! We're having an open house on Friday, February 6th and our first Mardi Gras ball fundraiser on the 13th. We're even going to have classes, beginning next month. I'm excited and can't believe that we're finally at this point!
The building is looking so good. James and all of the crews have done an excellent job with bringing our old gal back from the dead. This is a recent image of the interior.
Can you believe those floors??? They are the original, 1929 floors that James, BC and crew members pulled up, hammered out the nails, and then saved for reuse. We only sanded them down lightly, mopped and then sealed them. So gorgeous! I'm proud of the fact that we reused as much as we could and that we saved original fabric from the building. I'm proud of James too. He's been working so hard and so have I. We can't keep up with all of the things that there are to do, but we've dug in and are pushing as hard as we can to get it open in February.
Everything won't be finished, but we'll have the place to a point where we can have classes and events and that's a really good thing. It's all happening!!!! 2015 will be the best year yet!
